There is a lot of talk these days about alkaline water. The big question is: are there actual health benefits of alkaline water? Alkaline water can be very beneficial. Particularly when combined with two other VERY important qualities. There are actually THREE characteristics of Kangen Water – (popularly, although incorrectly called alkaline water) but really, ALL three of these properties need to be present for the “magic” to happen – in other words for there to truly have health benefits of alkaline water, you need a few more elements. So here are the properties
Property number one: Alkaline
Water is actually neutral. It can be alkaline or acidic depending on the minerals present – or lack thereof. Add alkaline minerals and you have alkaline water. Add acidic minerals and you have acidic water. There is a difference between alkaline and alkalized water. Alkaline is water that has alkaline minerals in it – such as calcium or magnesium. Technically, you can add sodium bicarbonate (aka baking soda) to water and make it alkaline. But are there health benefits of alkaline water when made this way? Reading the ingredients of the of the recently popularized bottled “alkaline waters” will tell you that in order to make the water alkaline, they have simply added some minerals for flavor and content – indecently doing little if nothing for your health. Alkalized water, however is a different story. This water has been run through a process of ionization, and when done properly, will actually separate the ions, retaining the alkaline minerals via an energy process, and releases the acidic minerals down a waste hose.
Property Number Two:
Usually when you think of an antioxidant, you think of something like a berry – ie. Acia, or a blueberry. These are both very high in antioxidants, they pale horribly in comparison to true Kangen water®. Why do I say “true Kangen Water”? Because only and Enagic machine can actually make Kangen Water. It’s actually a trademarked word used to describe the water that an Enagic ionizer makes. The reason other ionizer companies use the term is – well, “Kangen Water® is what gets results. And one of the reasons it gets such great results is because of the antioxidants IN Kangen Water. The Antioxidants are there because of an electrical charge. When platinum (and here, cheaper machines fail miserably because they use cheaper metals or alloys) but when pure platinum is electrolyzed and water is run over it, it gives off its electrons. Those electrons are the highest form of antioxidants on the planet. The good thing about these antioxidants is that they don’t need to be digested. They are carried by water, which when properly ionized will pass right through the cell walls. (this is due to the next property “microclustering) The down side of these antioxidants is that they have a very short shelf life.
Property number three:
There are many names for this – it is also known as “microclustered” or hexoganal water, (meaning the way the molecules cluster together are 6 sided as apposed to 15, 20 up to 150 per cluster…) it’s also called fractionated water, or “tiny” water. The health benefits of alkaline water really have more to do with this quality than with the mineral content. Truth be told, the magic really is in the microcluster.
